I Love Home Inspections
I absolutely enjoy construction. Understanding how walls stand up, how moisture moves, and why concrete cracks is more interesting to me than the latest prize winning novel. I look forward to home inspections so I can help families understand more about the properties they want to purchase. For example, a home buyer is thinking about paint color for the basement bedroom. Me however, I’m checking for egress escape for the person that will be living in that bedroom in need of emergency escape. In addition, complicated systems like electrical panels spark my interest. While furnaces give me that warm cozy feeling. Plumbing isn’t as fun, but I take a crack at it. Call Adam Lask at Lask Inspection Group, LLC to help you with your next home.
Home Inspection Mentors
I am fortunate to have experienced mentors. My father was a carpenter and roofing contractor for 40 years. One grandfather was an operating engineer digging basement foundations and the other was a machinist at Amerock. I was lucky to be surrounded by such great men that taught me about carpentry, excavations, as well as mechanical systems. In addition, my step father has been a licensed home inspector for almost a quarter of a century. His direction and guidance has allowed me to further educate myself in home inspections. Finally, my father-in-law has worked with me on remodeling projects and I’ve gained knowledge working with him as well.
Experience
I started in construction as a teenager working on residential roof projects. I was sent to the top of the roof to start tearing off shingles in preparation for new shingles. Also, the shingles needed to be thrown into the dumpster so I got my exercise while I worked. Through college I continued to work in the roofing business and for a short time I also worked in utilities. I continued on in the roofing and exterior construction industry for many more years. I’ve managed or installed hundreds of roofing, gutters, siding, and other exterior projects over my career. I then transitioned to home inspections to use the experience I have acquired through various remodeling projects.
